Transitions

Not only is Pearl welcoming a brother into her life and adjusting to sharing Mom and Dad's attention but we've also lost her afternoon naps over the past couple weeks. It was a very hard practice to let go (possibly harder for me) but now that we're on the other side, obviously very necessary. Bedtime was beginning to drag on, as Pearl was finding it harder and harder to settle. But now, everything is much smoother, and much more enjoyable for everyone. Her eyes naturally close within minutes of story time's conclusion and she's averaging 11-12 hours of peaceful sleep a night.

This is how I found Pearl maybe 5 minutes after our goodnight hugs and kisses tonight. Have I mentioned how much I love her? I really really really do.
