Fire Hall

I booked a tour at the local fire hall this morning for some special Mommy and Pearl time. So off we went, just the two of us. We had a VIP tour as at one point the firefighters out numbered us. We learned about the brand new fire engine and all its bells and whistles. We learned about the two ladder trucks, helmets, boots, jackets, hoses, haz-mat trailer (which is usually not on the tour but Pearl convinced Guido the fireman and our guide), central command and the jaws of life. Pearl was overwhelmed and quiet at first but by the end Guido the fireman was barraged with "What's this?, What's this?, What's this?" We definitely kept him on his toes.

Did you know all manned fire halls across Canada have an open door policy. So go down for a visit. Guido told Pearl she could come back as often as she liked. So I'm sure we'll be back soon. I'm going to try and book a tour at the Police Department next week, I've heard you get to meet a police dog and play with handcuffs - can't wait.
