I have great memories from childhood of Mom and Dad decorating the front yard with ghosts, mummies, Jack the Ripper grave stones, and skeletons. Limbs would come up through the grass, and Beware signs cautioned those who dare walk up the drive. We had a scary music tape playing at the front door. We were 'that house' on St. Lucia Place. And our costumes were never store bought, but always so creative. Mom and Dad took the time, and I remember.
Willie and I are hoping to pass on that same lively Halloween spirit to Leo and Pearl.
This October 31st, we were all together so we did it up and did it up right. The porch has been decorated for weeks, and we found excellent costumes for everyone. Pearl picked two clown costumes for her Mommy and Daddy, did my make-up and wanted the same make-up herself. Ergo the adorable bumblebee with the clown-ish face. We all trick or treated and then headed home in time to hand out lots of candy. Even caught a few fireworks on the rooftop just before bed.
We all had a spook-tacular time, and everyone's now fast asleep (including Daddy).
Happy Halloween Everyone! Hope you all had a ghostly time!
