Happy 1st Birthday Leo Fisher

Leo's special day began at 5:30 this morning, with his big sister right beside him helping follow his birthday ribbon*.  Leo was all smiles opening his many gifts, even took time to read each card.   He received a walker from us and shortly thereafter was taking his first steps proudly pushing his new toy around the house proving again, you can do things all by yourself.  You are amazingly independent and I predict sprinting is just around the corner.

But that said you also had both hands splashing in the toilet yesterday and emptied my organic dried basil on the floor today, so there is some room for improvement.

Our Vernon morning was dark and stormy with heavy rain, but as if on cue, the skies parted at midday, and we hiked to Rattlesnake Point in sunshine. We had a beautiful family celebration with a view and Leo enjoyed/savoured/devoured/inhaled his very first chocolate cake with a side Lion sugar cookie.

Leo Fisher you are 1 today.  Mom and Dad find it hard to believe but here we are and you are oh so ready. You are our little boy and we love you with all our hearts.

Here's a quick look at you June 8th, 2012.

You:
walk with your new toy
make lots of sounds, mama, dada, ha-hoo, oh, ah
point
clap
love all things Pearl
bird watch
stand up and pull up on everything
you get off couches, beds and chairs
empty drawers
get completely in cupboards and then empty them
you love cutting the grass with Dad (he carries you in the backpack)
you go down the one stair in the upstairs hallway,
drink bath water
chase balls
push chairs and stools while walking
give open mouth kisses
drink with gusto
eat with few table manners
talk to yourself in the mirror
love getting in our shower
go to bed around 6-7pm and wake up 530-630am
have 3 bottles a day
love applesauce and greek yogurt
dance

Happy Birthday Leo the Lion, we love you so much and can't wait to see what the next 365 days bring.

Add Pearl's nursery school and her performance at the Vernon Community Music School Country Fair tonight and it was a big day. One we won't soon forget.   I'm working on some videos, stay tuned.

P.S. Trap got Leo dressed, think I'll ever get that white shirt clean? :)

*birthday ribbons lead the Fogel children to their presents starting in their bedroom then twirling and looping from room to room.
